GPC-HallabyAlia

Alia Autism Center proudly announces the grand opening of Halla by Alia, Bahrain’s first café and bakery entirely operated by young adults with autism. This national initiative is a collaboration between Alia Autism Center and leading local companies, including Bahrain Flour Mills Company and General Poultry Company, a prominent Bahraini producer of table eggs. Both companies generously contributed essential raw materials to support the success of this unique project.

Halla by Alia is more than just a café; it is a platform designed to empower individuals with autism by providing a hands-on training environment to develop professional and life skills. This initiative aligns with the mission of Alia Autism Center to offer high-quality vocational training programs through its Rehabilitation Center. The café and bakery will provide young adults with autism the opportunity to gain practical experience in customer service, food preparation, inventory management, and various other aspects of the hospitality industry, fostering their confidence and independence as they prepare to enter the workforce.

Commenting on the project launch, Dr. Rania bint Ali Al Khalifa, President of the Society, said:

“Halla by Alia is a living testament to what can be achieved when organizations come together to promote inclusivity and create opportunities for everyone. This project is not just a café; it is a symbol of what our young adults with autism can achieve when given the right tools and support. We are deeply grateful to Bahrain Flour Mills Company and General Poultry Company for their partnership and unwavering support in making this project a reality.”

Through this initiative, Halla by Alia aims to make a broad positive impact on society by fostering acceptance, raising awareness, and showcasing the abilities of individuals with autism in the workplace. The project also serves as an inspiration for other companies and organizations to take concrete steps toward promoting inclusivity and diversity in Bahrain.

The grand opening of Halla by Alia marks a significant milestone for Alia Autism Center and its mission to make Bahrain a leading example of inclusivity. The community, supporters, and partners are invited to visit the café and witness the incredible potential of these exceptional young adults.
